Tote Bag Design Ideas: Layouts and Prompts That Work
A tote is a big flat canvas carried in public. Bold and simple wins.

Good tote bag design ideas, especially simple ones, are bold and readable from a few steps away. A tote is a big flat canvas that people carry in public, so one strong graphic or one short line beats a busy scene. Here are four layouts, prompts to start from, and what to watch for on fabric.
Four layouts
A centred graphic. One illustration with room around it.
Big type. One to four words in heavy letters.
A pattern. A repeating pattern in one or two colours.
A corner mark. A small mark low on one side, for a quieter look.

Ideas by use
The market bag: a joke about shopping lists or what is in the bag. The library bag: a line about books, a small drawing of a stack. The gym bag: a short line, no more. The gift bag: a name and a year, so it becomes a keepsake.
Prompts to start from
"Bold one-colour illustration of a bicycle with a basket of flowers, centred graphic for a tote bag, plain background."
"The words 'Library Day' in chunky letters, one colour, centred, plain background, for a tote bag."
"Seamless geometric tile pattern, two colours, for a tote bag."
Fabric is rougher than paper
Thin lines and tiny text disappear on fabric. Use strong contrast, keep the design off the seams and handles, and avoid fine gradients. Look at the mockup, not only the image, since the bag's shape changes how the design sits.

Tell Pablit's design assistant who the bag is for. It makes the design, shows it on a bag, and you change it in plain words. Each bag is made to order, one at a time, with no minimum order.
